Bone Broth

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken (whole/organic)

  • ½ bunch of celery (top stalks and leaves) roughly chopped

  • 2 carrots chopped in half

  • 1 onion chopped in quarters

  • 2 garlic cloves peeled

  • 1 tbsp of peppercorns

  • 1 tbsp of salt (pink Himalayan or Celtic)

  • 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar

  • Water

 

Method

  • Slice meat off chicken (save in fridge for later use ). Or you can use a roast chicken carcass.

  • In the slow cooker place chicken bones and skin, add all remaining ingredients.

  • Add water until the slow cooker is almost full.

  • Leave slow cooker on low over night, or for a minimum of 12 hours.

  • Remove the bones, skin and veggies, and bottle up the bone broth for use in cooking, drinks etc. You can freeze it in ice cube trays for easy portioning later.
